Mailing Methods for Canadians Shipping to the US
If you are looking for alternative
ways to ship items to the US or internationally, or would prefer to use
a company other than Canada Post, there are many companies you can use.
And if there is another Canada Post strike, you can stay in business shipping
products by using one of the below companies.
FedEx
FedEx Ground can be fairly inexpensive. You will need to contact FedEx
to get an account set up, and bar coded labels for your packages.
Loomis
/ DHL
Loomis also ships internationally, through DHL in the US.
UPS
This can be pricier, depending on what you are sending and how much it
weighs.
Purolator
Purolator may be an option. They offer services through Canada Post, so
I am not sure how you can process them. Some cities have independent Purolator
offices. Watch their site for updates.
CanPar
CanPar is used by many Canadian ebusinesses for shipping, and they also
have an online rate calculator.
Menlo
Worldwide / Emery Forwarding
Caters to quick shipments of heavier items.
